Time to Move On
Jan 17th, 2008 by Larry
How do you know when it is time to move on? How do you nudge family members and friends in a different direction? These are very hard questions but standing by doing nothing is hard too.
My best friend is going through this now and over the last couple of years it has gotten very bad. It is sad that the happiest person I knew is now a basket case and sad most of the time. The once friendly stress free work environment has turned into hell on earth where many people are unhappy. Where someone you were once friends with takes swipes at you, ever chance they get. Where people with nothing to do think up things to put on a plate that has overflowed long ago. Where the complications of the job have increased 10 fold and the same person now has to squeeze two weeks worth of work into one.
Stress
Stress is a destroyer that ages you before your time. I sit idly by and feel helpless to do anything to turn around the trend. Please quit and find some else to do I say. You have marketable computer skills that any employer would love to have, for word-publishing skills are hard to come by and are in high demand. You can do in one day what most publishers would take three. The answer I get is, I love this place, and if I leave, I’m never working ever again.
The place is not going anywhere but your health is so much more important. You will make it somehow. God will look out for you for you have given much and ask little in return.
